Community Outreach – Signature Programs

CSW students have engaged with the community over the past two decades in several outreach programs that are having a positive and continuing impact:

Science Ambassadors: Bringing positive enthusiasm to elementary students about science, with regular after-school activities at Shortlidge, Harlan, Elbert Palmer, Baltz, Lewis and Highlands as well as Eastside Charter and Edison Charter. (established 2005)

Science Expo: Originally hosted at the CSW campus, this event is now hosted at The Delaware Children’s Museum’s (DCM) in order to facilitate access for students in city communities. CSW students encourage an interest in science through the use of science kits and participation. (established 2005)

Multiplying Good/The Jefferson Council: Since its founding in 2010 as the first SIA (Students in Action) team in Delaware, Multiplying Good (formerly Jefferson Council) has been empowering hundreds of students each year to serve other youth and deliver a dramatic impact on the lives of those around them.  Through connecting students with their service passions, equipping them with the skills to serve others well, and unleashing the confidence in their ability to make a difference, Multiplying Good has transformed thousands of individuals to become the leaders of tomorrow that our world desperately needs.  Today, Multiplying Good is the largest student-run organization at The Charter School of Wilmington transforming individuals through the power of service to other youth, driving ripples of change, and multiplying good in our community.
